Cindy
Cindy, now 8 years old, has spent the better part of her life living in a Santo Domingo park with her mother, a 28 year old prostitute. All Cindy ever wanted was a home: somewhere to feel safe, secure and loved. Fortunately, through the work of Ministerios TSIDKENU, run by Jackie and Hernando Franco, this was made possible. One day Jackie found Cindy and her mother in this city park. Jackie frequently counseled them by bringing the word of God. She expressed her concern for Cindy and made sure her mother knew of a place where her daughter would be properly cared for. Through Gods power, Cindy came to live in Ministerios TSIDKENU. She currently lives there with many other children from similar backgrounds of poverty, abuse and neglect. She is happy, health, making great improvements scholastically and has all the food and clothes she needs.
The Arias Children
Claudia was born with cerebral palsy and is now 11 years old. Her entire life was spent in the floor of her home and much of that time she was taken care of by her now 5 year old brother, Carlos. Although so young, Carlos would get her food and water and would play and talk with her. A concerned neighbor intervened and contacted Jackie and Hernando for help. When they got to the house, Claudia was covered in feces and was in the floor. They were told by the kids that Claudia lived that way daily. Children with any type problem are many times cast aside as was seen in this situation. Claudia is now a much healthier and happier young lady. She is growing and communicating and has just recently had surgery to lengthen tendons in her legs. The doctors have said that it is very possible that she will be able to walk. That is Claudia's prayer...that one day very soon, she'll be able to walk!
Claudia also has a younger sister named Angelina. It wasn't until recently that her family placed her at "Jackie's House". When she came, her body was fully of parasites and sores. On her scalp there were several open wounds that were full of maggots. By truly a miracle, the Lord healed her body from all the parasites and worms and infection and Angelina is now running around playing, smiling and living a normal, healthy life.
Praise the Lord that Claudia, Carlos and Angelina were given a second chance and are now in a Christian, loving home.
Israel, Estenfani, and Clara
Israel, Estefani, and Clara are brothers and sisters who have Oestro Genesis Imperfectsto. This means their bones break very easily. Their mom is so poor that she can not afford the proper treatment for her children let alone nutrition to keep them alive for much longer. All three children can not walk and are wheel chair bound from multiple fractures and breaks through out their bodies. Many people in their community teased and looked down on them, calling them the crystal children. The torment was so bad that they were never allowed to go to school. News of these children came to Ministerios TSIDKENU. Luckily, Israel, Estefani, and Clara were fortunate enough to be given a new home with this organization. Today, they get the proper medical care, food and nutrition that they need to live. They are now home schooled with all the other children of Ministerios TSIDKENU. They love to learn and get so excited to participate in the many activities and day trips organized by volunteers. It is truly amazing to see the difference in these kids since they arrived in the care of Jackie and Hernando.
